It's simple (luck, positivity, unity, faith) and also complex. The nature of LUCK is POSITIVE thinking projected into your everyday life with the limitations endless. This is a UNITY of people who cast positive energy and good deeds without return expectations. We each feel exhilarated with the growing community of similar valued individuals. Whether you carry the fat or not the purity resides inside us all. It's written in our essence. FAITH is the strength to show these qualitys in a world that stifles the positive while projecting the negative. My interpretation of the materialistic luckyfatman is that he is the symbol for ones mind, faith and goodwill which cannot be obtained any way other than within ones self. He cannot be bought or sold. These values can be shared and GIVEN to others through experiences. This perspective inspires us all to dig deeper into ourselves to be better in the society we reside and can reach. As the movement gains members the circles we reach will continue to grow with the faith that one day our circles will overlap and become a solid unity with full reach. The humanitarianism shown by Fatman tailsman is refreshing and inspiring to each and every one of us. While the meaning of the Lucky Fat Man Talisman differs from person to person, one common core is shared by all of us; he came when we needed him most . It may not have been clear at the time but it's true. While it's hard to put into words what he means to me, I will do my best. Just like each Lucky Fat Man, we are all unique, that's the beauty of this group. The men and woman I have been blessed to get to know are the ones I thought I'd never find. One thing we all do share is the need to put kindness and joy out in the world, instead of negativity . Just seeing that guy when I open my eyes at 4am for work puts a smile on my face and starts my day off positively . The effects I've seen on my life with him by my side are already amazing . No longer afraid to venture off (because he is my partner in crime) , I am able to see things I've never seen before and to live again. He has brought me closer to nature and helped me learn more about myself. #bombthefat here is my Submission: I have been through a lot in the short time I've spent in this world so far , I don't look for sympathy in this, just an understanding on how I view things. 3 years ago at the age of 32 I had a Heart Attack and was given a 40% survival rate When I was admitted in to the hospital. Now you might ask what this has to do with the LuckyFatman movement? I will come to that conclusion in a bit. While I was in ICU for 7 days I started to think to myself well Steve you had a good run, you did a lot and still kept your head up despite all that has been thrown at you and I mean I was put thru the ringer , but I still found myself thinking on how much better I could do. Now you have understand that when I was admitted in ICU I didn't think I was getting out at all... When I had my procedure and was told I will be ok in time with restrictions and that I was able to go home, I was beyond happy! To be able to feel the sun on my face and still have time to spend with my wife that means the world to me and has been my rock! and even to run my hands thru my cats fur and hearing her purr my once again( I know odd lol) . I found after my ordeal I changed in small ways like calmness in the way I thought and treated others. I remember how scared I was and when people came by the hospital or the house to cheer me up and it meant the world to me. I try my best to return the favour that was giving to me by putting a smile on someone's face and showing unconditional love, trying to do good without any promise of gratitude or something in return. You'll find that once you start giving back it becomes addictive and self healing. Now the way I view LuckyFatmans movement is a wake up call like what I went through but not as scary. It moves you to want to be a better person because someone saw something in you that maybe you may or may not realize that you can do good, maybe you just needed the spark To be the change. This luckyfatmansociety as we call ourselves ignites a push to do better. The Change is for you to decide. I have always treated people how i would want to be treated, and even when life cane down on me i kept doing my own thing. Respect is not something that can be freely given, it must be earned through actions and words, with thoughts and intentions. Kindness that is easily given will be swiftly returned. As I age these words couldn't ring more true. I have watched my children grow up and become young adults and I want them to be people that someone wants to meet and call a friend. To whomever is reading this... I'm writing this on the 23rd day, of the 5th month, and the year is 2015. They call me... Luckyfatman. In a world that is changing so rapidly, I try to be the constant. In a world where evils and darkness is happening more and more, I try to show people the light. I urge you, do not get lost in all the negativity around you. Together we can be the change. We can pass on the mantra of luckyfatman one person at a time. What exactly is this mantra and society I'm talking about, you ask? This is the wake up and be thankful you are alive and healthy mantra. The power of positive thinking can change the world around us. As the luckyfatman society we need to be kind and find the good in people. Your smile can work wonders. Just try to smile and and ask someone how they are doing each day. You could greatly impact that persons life just by showing you genuinely care. We help others in need, we take care of our earth, we help show people the light and good in others. The luckyfatman lives by the his own code. His smile is contagious, when he walks by people and smiles, it is impossible for them to not smile back. Each and everyone of us needs to practice this everyday. He keeps his heart free of hate and worry. Just as each of us should do. He gives back to his community in anyway he can. This is what this movement is about. We all can do it, if we just open up our hearts and our minds. The luckyfatman reminds us of this each and everyday.  In this picture, you see the earth and how bountiful and beautiful it is, this is a reflection of how our souls should be. You look up to the sky and for as far as you can see that's all there is, but yet just know that people have been past the sky in to the galaxies and lands that we have never explored. That is a reminder to us that we have no limits on what we are capable of. We need to keep our hearts as open and welcoming as the sky. And then you see the ocean, that flows in and out all across the earth. It adapts to every curve of the earth or every obstacle in its way and pushes where it wants to go. He started as a mystery; an enigma. Something that I needed to find out more about. Down the rabbit hole Alice; #followthefat . I found the pictures and the #luckyfatmansociety and followed. So I did, he rode next to my knife with some para cord as a pillow and made my #pocketdump and #edc shots so much more fun. Then the likes came and I followed and liked back. The luckyfatman to me is more than an Instagram account but a movement. Luck and faith can not be bought or sold. The luckyfatman has successfully accomplished what we originally created Knifeguys for. Not for profit or notoriety but to bring these communities closer together. Recently I lent the Fatman to @madisonhughes17 and I would like to believe that it is what helped her accomplish her straight A's in nursing school. My luckyfatman is always in my pocket waiting to be passed on to the next human being that needs his luck. I stand behind the @luckyfatman_talisman 100% but will not be entering the #bombthefat competition because I do not believe that competition is what the luckyfatman stands for. For me my #luckyfatman isn't just about luck but he's been more of a beacon of hope &relief. More often than not, I stress over everything, overthink everything, and worry about so much. For those who don't know me my name is Terry and I enjoy riding my Harley. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and over the last 7 years I had been a member of the American Legion Riders which is a non profit organization to help raise money or collect donations to give to those who need it. I have spent hundreds of hours volunteering my time to help pay it forward to our local veterans, our veterans home and other local veteran organizations.

From humble beginnings came an idea. That idea was shared with like minded individuals and now we have a real community.

The Lucky Fatman movement and what it really means (to me). Recently Instagram has been bombarded with the Lucky Fatman. The Lucky Fatman has a few simple messages that absolutely everyone can live by: Carry Strong. This is letting you know that no matter how bad your life gets you can always move forward, there is always light in the darkest storm and time will let you heal all the wounds. The other message is: Pay it forward. Paying it forward is pretty simple. I, myself have lived by this for a long time. It's a simple message that lets you share the wealth, help a random stranger with groceries, donate to a charity or give to a homeless person, or even hold a door open for someone. If you suddenly got rich by lottery or other means, don't forget the little people, don't forget your roots and everyone that's helped you when you've needed it. Paying it forward is a powerful message to accompany carry strong. Even though you may be down on your luck, would that $1.25 really end you if you gave it to a homeless man for a bottle of water? Would holding a door for an elderly woman really throw you off your busy schedule? These messages ring loud and clear in our faces every day even without having a term for them. The Lucky Fatman put a face to the names. The Lucky Fatman represents these messages and let's you know better times are coming or he's here to simply remind you to slow down and help someone in need. It's all about the small stuff because without it our life wouldn't have much meaning. Recently I lost my little fat buddy and it really sucks but it won't change how I live and act day to day as I have and always will practice the way of the Lucky Fatman Society. -- @killaskill

When I first received my Lucky Fat Man talisman, it was primarily because @luckyfatman_talisman found out about how I've been bedridden on-and-off the past 5 years due to rupturing 2 discs in my low-back, how I've fought through all of my spine procedures, and 3 spine surgeries, learned to walk again, and that sad, but kind of lucky part of my life. My story doesn't really help anyone except myself, though.
So, this morning, my family and I set-out to run our errands, and to pay our "Memorial Day Weekend" respects at the local cemetery near us.
When we got there, I thought, "This will make a great background picture for my #luckyfatman !"
I setup my shot, but every time that I snapped a picture, my camera refused to focus on my #luckyfatman . At first, I got really frustrated because we're supposed to showcase our talisman.
After awhile, I realized that the #luckyfatman was intentionally teaching me more of his wisdom.
The intent of the #luckyfatmansociety is NOT to focus on him as a fun little "lucky" trinket, he was putting my focus on what was surrounding him and me; Care and Service Towards Others.
It is this lesson that I take with me, and carry in my pocket. -- @dosterhaven

For those of you who may be confused lately as to what all these posts with the little #luckyfatman in them are about, here is what it means to me, and why I am so happy to be part of the #luckyfatmansociety .
I am not sure when I first saw a #luckyfatman pop up on Instagram, but I am pretty sure it was right around the time I got the news that my Grandpa ‘Papa Ed’ had passed away. As sad a time as it was, losing someone that loved you your entire life is always hard, but it also made me start to think about all the great times He and I shared. We traveled and fished and ate and drank all over this continent. I learned so much about life from him, without him having to ‘teach’ me. While he was a teacher of many things, just learning how to enjoy life was the best thing he ever taught me. I had to be ready at the drop of a hat to drive for a few hours, to catch a plane, to go fishing in Canada, or to go to the World Series in Atlanta. Those things taught me to never have too many plans that weren’t breakable enough to go to something that may be a once in a lifetime experience. They also taught me to do ‘random’ good things for people. Whether they were friends, family, or random people, helping others was always a huge part of my Grandpa’s life, and he never once asked for anything in return, except maybe loyalty and friendship.
So… When I was chosen to #carrythefat it meant more to me than just having a lucky charm in my pocket. It is a constant reminder for me of my Papa Ed and everything he taught me in the 34 years I knew him. It means even a little bit more because he really was a real life #luckyfatman. He never went out for a dinner and looked at a price, didn’t order an appetizer and a desert, didn’t order more wine than could be drunk, etc. He lived life to he fullest, and I hope the little reminder in my pocket every day helps me to do the same. I know he is smiling down on me from above, and he is also guiding me along from inside my pocket every day.

Here is my #bombthefat What it means to me to be apart of the #luckyfatman movement...... Very hard question to answer is so few words. He is carried with me where ever i go. When I'm on the line at work cooking food, at the store buying food for my little girl or Walking to work and seeing and realizing how beautiful everything is. The moment I saw him for the first time an unexplained joyful feeling came over me. Realizing that no matter how big or small problems I have in my life that I can hold onto something and make me realize that it will pass. He gives me hope, shows me the kindness that people have bestowed upon me to pass on to other people, people I know and people I just meet. He also has given me a glimpse into the other amazing people life who were also bestowed the enjoyment of the #luckyfatman. From coast to coast, north and south, even across the pond. Seeing the joy that people show with their #luckyfatman brings a smile to my face. He is not just some little item I have. He is a part of me. He Makes me strive to be the best man/friend/father I can be everyday and pass that into other individuals as well. Strive to be better and give more then what was given to you. That to me is what the luckyfatman means to me and in my heart.
